Insects are, in the animal kingdom, the group with the largest number of
species. These organisms play a very important role in all existing food webs (except perhaps the marine environment), and their direct impact on agriculture,
forestry, veterinary and medicine is enormous. Due perhaps to its richness in species and abundance of specimens, insects are present in the arts, being often used as a source of inspiration for cartoons. In this link the visitor can check a miscellanea of cartoons collected over the years, most of them in Portuguese. Cartoonists and people who have cartoons centered on insects are encouraged to submit them to this site, where they can be posted (click here!). |
